The series' original opening theme, as heard in the United States, comprises instrumental portions of "Teardrop" by Massive Attack. The piece was used in part because of the distinct tempo which roughly mimics the sound of a beating human heart. The team goes to the hospital after the bachelor party ends suddenly to figure out what is wrong with their patient — after they sober up. Cuddy decides to spend more time at home to take care of her new foster baby and gives Cameron the responsibility of overseeing House. The team treats a special education teacher (Erika Flores) whose seemingly inherent goodness is actually a pathology. Foreman must make a potentially dangerous decision about Thirteen's participation in his drug trial. Thirteen takes a woman (Angela Gots) with whom she had a one-night stand to Princeton-Plainsboro after the woman has a seizure in Thirteen's apartment. House and the team take on her case, House using it as an opportunity to explore Thirteen's personal life.
Casting
Throughout the season we see that House chooses his own interests over Cuddy until Cuddy comes down with what seems to be cancer that has metastasized, which will most likely result in her death. It is learned, though, that the tumor is benign and the metastasis was just harmless inflammation, and what was thought to be the cancer spreading was an allergy to antibiotics. Even so, Cuddy is disappointed in House for never truly being there for her, and furthermore that he decided to take Vicodin before showing up for her surgery, and thus ends her relationship with him. House returns not only to his Vicodin habit, but also appears to lose his interest in even the medical puzzles he once found fulfillment in solving. The seventh season of House premiered on September 20, 2010 and ended on May 23, 2011. This season marks the final appearance of Lisa Cuddy in the series, as Lisa Edelstein announced that she wouldn't come back for the next season.
Season 3
While House dismisses Morgan as a nut job, he is intrigued by her theory on the kiss-of-death cat, and sets out to disprove it. When Morgan falls seriously ill, he and the team are forced to get to the bottom of both mysteries. Meanwhile, Taub struggles with his finances and reconnects with an old high school friend at the clinic whose business successes present Taub with an entrepreneurial opportunity he had not previously considered. An agoraphobic man (Todd Louiso) falls ill and refuses to leave his home to be treated at the hospital. Therefore, House and the team go to his home to figure out what might be wrong. Cameron takes charge of the case as she had treated the patient in the past and she and the team figure out ways to treat him at his home.
House's father was a strict disciplinarian, but although his punishments were severe, they were never arbitrary or fuelled by anger. As a Marine, John probably felt his son would respond well to the same sort of discipline that made him the man he is. However, although House clearly wants nothing more to do with his father, it's just as clear that his father wants to have a relationship with his son and share the important things in his life. Remorseful for his disbelief in the patient's story, Foreman searches for her family with Wilson, eventually discovering that the woman became homeless after losing her husband and son in a car accident two years earlier. To give her peace as she dies, Foreman pretends to be her husband and forgives her.
